It's necessary for special operations forces in Afghanistan. The local leaders will not take you nearly as seriously -or work with you at all- unless you are male and you are wearing a full beard; so, modified grooming standards are authorized.
I'll admit that this is the first time I've seen Canadian SPECOPS that were authorized to do this. I've seen pics of American and British SPECOPS that were doing this, but not Canadian!

Nice poem in 12, but if no one protested and disobeyed those in power, more people would die, in more pointless wars than the west is involved in at the minute, and I'm pretty sure that soldiers, marines, those in the navy and veterans protest!
