This is the USS Independence (LCS 2). It was built at the Austal shipyard in Mobile, Alabama. These are photos the USS Independence's test trials for final inspection by the Navy. Good job Tide.

Guess what there guy it is very real, do a little research on it before you open your mouth. It was in our drydock a few months ago for some upgrades.
I wonder how thick the hull armour is? It looks somewhat thin to me for some reason, would the angular hull deflect shells or missiles at all or is it just to baffle radar/sonar? Navy ppl?

I served aboard the USS Independence CV-62. This new Indy is indeed the coolest ship in the Navy, probably the world. If this ship doesn’t impress you, then you have a coconut for a head. From the designers to the man who swept the last pile of construction debris, hats off to you. You guys have built a Work of Art which just happens to be deadly.
