These pictures show the US nuclear tests for Operation Greenhouse and Operation Ivy which happened in 1951 and 1952 respectively. Both tests were important milestones for military weapons research. Operation Greenhouse was the first test of thermonuclear weapons and Operation Ivy was the first successful test of a hydrogen bomb.
