The F-15 can pound targets on the ground and battle in the air. Although McDonnell Douglas designed it in the 1980's, the F-15E still battles on the front-line. The top speed is Mach 2.5. As a fighter, it can do everything well. However the F-15 is not stealth but it cost $43 million in 1998. Compare this to the F-22 which originally cost $339 million. What are your thoughts on the F-15E?

Bitburg
Bitburg AB Germany–1975-1985–greatest time in the world to love the F-15. You did not live until you watched an F-15 do a flyover at the local football stadium. That was living the life to the fullest.
Still the greatest plane in the inventory–new is nice, but once you proven yourself its hard to find a viable replacement. Eagles rule the world forever.
f 15 saw great action by the israeli air force, f15 bombed osirak iraqui nuclear reactor june 4 1981 and saw excelent service during 18982 innvasion of lebanon 85 syrian mig jets were shot down and 23 sam sites destroyed many by F 15 eagles
superb fighter
Wrong, the Israelis used the mighty F-16 on that mission. The F-15As didn't even make it into Iraqi airspace!
You gotta love a fighter jet that has seen a substantial amount of action, but has never been shot down by another plane. It is basically the best fighter the world has ever seen.
Who cares about those fucking war machines? Wake up… military industry sucks! Listen to Joe Rogan
Then go to another site, dickhead.
Suddenly I like Joe Rogan a lot less.
[...] Is the F-15E the best all-around jet fighter ever created? The Brigade [...]
Most of these pictures are of the F-15C a not the F-15E. My father flew the C for almost 30 years…it is awesome. The mud eagle (E) is a great airframe but not a true "fighter"…
some of your pix are not e-models, most likely c's. i was w/the 336tfs "rocketeers" from 1998-1995 as referenced in pics 17,20,22 and 24. oh yes the ride is awesome… chek6

Years ago while stationed in the Republic of Korea I would occasionally travel down to Osan AB. They had a large banner behind the counter where you signed up for MAC flights. It read; "It's not noise it's the sound of freedom". Great pics!!!
I kinda like the Fokker Triplane as the best fighter. It's said that Richtoffen could do a 180 in four seconds. Now THAT'S a low wing loading.
OK, seriously, what can you say about the F-15? For 30 years now it's been the Air Supremacy, Kill-All fighter of the world's Superpower. It's not just able to kill all planes that might foolishly dare — very foolishly — it can also execute devastating ground attacks, replacing light bombers, battleships and artillary units. All while being an incredible hot rod. It's a virtually unbeatable, do-all, workhorse fighter.
If we can get a responsible gov't elected, such that we can spend properly on sufficient numbers of F-22's, rather than waste $trillion$ on unconstitutional beauracracies and socialism, the F-22 could prove to be the next F-15, the next workhorse. But why buy F-22's when we can spend taxpayer dollars on "cowboy poetry" and minority voter fraud organizations like ACORN?
F-22/F-15 are great planes, no doubt! However, in almost every war game conducted between either the F-15 or F-22 against the F/A-18E/F, the Super Hornets come out on top. Against the F-15 it isn't even fair, they get killed literally as soon as the fight starts. The F-22 is a tricky one though and yes, is superior at longer distances due stealth capability. However the F-18 has proven countermeasures that work great against longer range missiles. Also, as soon as the F-22 opens the weapons compartments, it is no longer stealth giving the F-18 an instant radar fix. At close distances it can be argued that the F-22 can "out maneuver" the F-18 which in theory is correct. The F-18 and F-22 have very similar weapons systems and one could argue that the better maneuverability of the F-22 would give it the certain edge. This is not true for one reason. STEALTH! All of the F-22 weapons are internal where as the F-18's are external. This gives the look to target lock systems that the weapons both jets utilize a much faster lock/launch time in the F-18. Just to add to that, if the F-22 were to engage all the weapons systems, it wouldn't be nearly as maneuverable due to the weapons being moved from inside the jet to outside causing not only a shift in weight but a major change in the airframes dynamics. In all the war games that I have been a part of or heard of recently, the F-18 is still the top dog, hands down.
