Seriously, though, it's a tough situation. On one hand, if they want freedom, they have to attain it themselves. If we hand it to them, I don't believe it would be long lasting. On the other hand, it sucks to sit here and just watch people die, and to listen to the radio and hear all the reports of torture and stuff like that.
The thing is, that region is rooted in a religion that is stuck in the 7th Century. Their religion is not one that encourages love of their neighbors. And unfortunately for politics in the region, church and state are more or less one and the same, and like conjoined twins, will die if a separation is attempted. That's why I firmly believe there will never be world peace, and those who think it's possible are fooling themselves.
I think it's a real shame that Russia and China won't condemn them not so much china cause they treat their people like shit anyway, but indiscriminately killing your population.
