Upswept exhausts is an established method of reducing gas temperature by mixing it with the down-washed air from the rotor. Those pesky Stingers are a nuisance so I'd imagine they're learning from the Soviet experience!!

30 is actually a SH-60 Seahawk, or possibly a UH-60 Black Hawk. Not an Apache…though I'm assuming you probably already know that…
You, my friend, are sadly incorrect. That is indeed an Ah-64D Apache. One which has been in Afghanistan for quiet some time if it is still there. Apaches are the only aircraft that have the 30mm Chain-gun underneath the CPG (front-seater). I kept that biatch of a bird flying for a year over there. I like to call the Apache "A tank with a ceiling fan."
Whoops, sorry, the only picture that appears to me in the above post is #22, so for whatever reason I just assumed Muadieb was referring to IT as the Apache and didn't check the numbers. For some reason this week the pictures have been displaying weirdly for me.
Yes, 30 IS an Apache, and I did know that beforehand.
