“Captain Martin Driver, 31, from 1st Battalion The Royal Anglian Regiment, originally from Barnsley, South Yorkshire, was on his second tour of Afghanistan and had previously served in Iraq and Northern Ireland as a reservist with 4th Battalion The Parachute Regiment.
He was seriously injured by an improvised explosive device while on patrol in Musa Qala and flown back to the Royal Centre for Defence Medicine, at Selly Oak, Birmingham, for treatment. His family were at his bedside when he died.”
