Thanks for this. Most people don't realize the significance the Battle of Britain had on the war. The RAF managed to hold off the German air force (The largest in the world at the time) halting Hitler's planned invasion of Britain, he then decided to go East to Russia, agreed by all to be his single worst decision. By staying free of enemy invasion Britain could then be used as a staging ground for the buildup to and the eventual launch of the main invasion into Europe by the allied forces.
