“These are a series of photos showing the ceremony of four Norwegian soldiers being taken home from Afghanistan with the flag draped over their caskets. The four men, Trond André Bolle, Christian Lian, Simen Tokle and Andreas Eldjarn, died when their vehicle was struck by an IED on June 27th 2010. Almost 1000 soldiers from over 20 countries stood at attention when they left the base a Mazar-e-Sharif for the last time.”

User submit from Philip Moreland, “This is my dad in WWII. He was in the 3rd special CB battalion. He was stationed in the New Heberdies and Okinawa. He died last year and he must have liked this photo ’cause he scanned it and it was on his hard drive. The stories he told us about the pacific War…”
